h&m home showroom

i've had a lovely but weird weekend. however, i had time to { finally! } visit the h&m home showroom in the central stockholm. cool concept, obviously! they had the collection hanging from the ceilings and small fridge door magnets with pictures of the collection. and a cashier with internet connection for ordering your stuff online. happy thoughts.

stockholm must see this autumn: kimono fusion

this autumn-winter's must see in stockholm is the kimono fusion exhibition at östasiatiska museet.

"The exhibition features exquisite vintage kimonos that puts dazzling textile
techniques on display, Mixed with creations by some of japan’s hottest young
designers and artists – from takyua angel’s spectacular creatios to street-smart
childish designs by shojono tomo. Handmade accessories for young geishas are
shown side by side with the graffiti artist shin tanaka’s murals and hip hopish
origami figures inspired by the elaborate patterns of ancient kimonos"

the exhibition shows the work of shin tanaka (interview here) among other cool designers and artists. so, when ever you ladies and gentlemen visit my beautiful city, make sure you also visit this exhibition!

sweet saturday in sthlm

yesterday we had a lovely sunny day here in stockholm. my friends arrived with a huge moving van since they move to stockholm today. i wasn't that much of help since i got there too late { i know, baaad!! } but i'm sure i can make it up for them by helping with the wallpapers and other interiors. the flat was beautiful allthough filled with boxes, but it's going to be very lovely home for them.

afterwards i wandered around the city camera in my hand and looked into small shops. stockholm has so many independent boutiques and i love visiting them, and ofcourse give tips about my newest findings: countrylife interiors and kungens lilla piga. i didn't however buy anything, need to save money to BARCELONA.

stockholm city tour by me

my friends have been in stockholm this weekend { they still are, tomorrow is a museum day! } and today we have been touring around the lovely city. i love being tourist in my own city! here, some pictures... the girls shopped and i took photoes, we had a few coffee breaks, some wine breaks { vodkatonic! } and had sushi. so fantastic!

one { or two } days in the capital of scandinavia

my friends are heading here from london and helsinki, and i decided to make a plan for us. the girls obviously want to go sightseeing, shopping, museum visiting, sparkling wine drinking and maybe some partying... so, let's make a plan!

the perfect day starts with a brunch at mosebacke, on södermalm. if we are lucky the weather is nice and we can hang out the whole weekend. before we head towards the city and high street shopping we might need to pay a visit to some of the vintage stores that södermalm is so famous for. maybe beyond retro? i'm sure i need to take them to grandpa too. and mint&vintage. and cheap monday. and tjallamalla.

by now i believe it's time for a glas of wine? that we get in slussen, maybe here or here? loving the view... after the brilliant start we will head towards the old town, gamla stan for some tourist attractions. here we have the royal castle. feeling for some bling bling?

after the beautiful walk in the old town we might need to stop by for some fika { coffee }. tehuset in kungsträdgården is perfect!

now we are getting to the centrum, and time for some more shopping. jimmy choos, anyone? all local and international brands are found here. if shopping gets a bit too expensive we can always enjoy exhibition Le Notti Italiane... around 60 original creations by Capucci, Valentino, Armani, Versace, worn by style icons like Princess Diana, Jacqueline Kennedy, Naomi Campbell, Audrey Hepburn. this is going to be a bliss!

now we need afternoon wine! perfect location for this is hotel scandic anglais roof top terrass, josefina on djurgården, east, sturehof... we could continue the night on kungsholmen, with a dinner here, or maybe in gamla stan, here. and if we wish to party away, maybe here or here?

on sunday we might want to take a boat to the archipelago.

ikea at liljevalchs

if you happen to be in stockholm this summer, here's what you need to do: go to liljevalchs museum! the exhibition ikea at liljevalchs will tell the story of ikea as the largest furniture and design phenomenon of all times. the exhibition also discusses the development of the modern society - from the private household to the global society of our time. i'll be there i can promise!

loving asian

tine k home is a fantastic interior and product design company in my neighbouring country - lovely lovely denmark! tine has been running her company since young age, and her style is shabby with a lot of asian influences. asia is something i love passionately. since i have lived in shanghai, and travelled around asian countries for many times, i always feel such desire for the interiors and colors. here, lovely inspiration for anyone who would love to add some asian style into interiors. the furniture is from a swedish company called blå lotus, and the absolutely fab lamps come from minh, also in stockholm. more...
this crazy design studio creates so cool designs, look for yourself! teo jasmin is based in paris { i think, please correct me if i'm wrong } and their products are just divine.

Nu är det sista veckan för Design Passion, och jag har fotfarande inte varit där! Hemskt, men nu vet jag vad jag ska göra nästa helg.

Now it's the last week for Design Passion, and I still haven't been there! Horrible, but now I atleast know what to do next weekend.

Where I used to live...

Today after work my friend took me to this marvellous shop in Sthlm, Dis. It's an interior design shop for people who love Asian influenced lovable things. And I do that. As I used to live in Shanghai, the most exciting city in the whole world, I love the Asian beautiful decor. The drama of silks, flowers and dark wood is fantastic. Prepare for some dazzling pictures!
